Reading Goals: Make A List

Sadly, we have had an off week of reading last week. I feel like I have been a terrible reader, and have been so lazy when it comes to reading for ME.

So I decided that it is a good idea to make a list. Here are my reading goals for the next 30 days. (And go check out Melissa's book updates over at Lone Star Signers...she totally inspires me)

Finish: The End of the Affair by Graham Greene
Read: Book Club Selection? Blood Will Out by Walter Kirn --not sure if I can read this (not on principle, just seriously might get extremely upset), concerned about violence level
Start: A Contemplative Reading of the Gospel Luke by Elena Bosetti in conjunction with the Luke section of the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible
Finish: Growing Up Reading: Learning to Read Through Creative Play

For the kids, I am working on organizing their books then we will work our way through them. Then I plan on making sure we read all the Caldecott and other award winners.

I need to add another "fun" book in here but not sure what. Suggestions welcome!

  1. I use Good Reads to keep track of what I read, what I'm reading, and what I want to read. Right now I'm reading a book about blogging and another called, "We'll Always Have Paris," about a mom and her 8yo daughter who tour Paris together (I'll be reviewing it and doing a Q&A with the author next month). I just finished "Hidden," and it was just OK (and predictable). Its topics of an untimely death and adultery make me hesitant to recommend to anyone. Before that I read The Goldfinch and I have mixed feelings about it: it was brilliantly written but dragged on in certain sections. But, it just won the Pulitzer so, there's that. ;)
