A Sewing Challenge: Baby Steps

Confession: I have not sat down and to sew in a (looong) while. I want everything to be neat and ready. I sometimes tend to jump into projects without prepping my environment, my fabric, or checking to see if I have all my supplies. I then rush ahead and forget to enjoy the process.
But something just clicked for me last week. I need to make time for this, something that I love to do, and I would love my children to have items made by Mama!
Baby steps this week!!
Here is my plan for this week:
1) Select pattern (this can actually take me days because I get so indecisive)
I narrowed it down to two possibilities....

2) Select fabric and notions
Think I will go with the anchors!

3) Prep fabric/cut

Simple right?! I previously tried to complete one item per week but got overwhelmed. My kids are my priority during the day, and my little plan is manageable enough that I am not ignoring my hubby every night while I sew.

What do you think? Do you have a process for your craft? I am curious if anyone else has a formula that works for them.
