Books of the Week Volume 4

Hey hey hey yall!
Long time no read?
We are finally all better here (fingers crossed) so things are getting a bit closer to "normal", whatever that is.

I am reading nothing right now. Yep. Nothing. I did go to the library and I checked out "The Colour of Milk", it looks good.

My son got a book based on a tv show at the library. I am not happy about this but he really is excited about finding a book that is like his beloved show. I don't want to discourage him, and honestly its not as bad as the usual "Thomas chuffed. Thomas huffed."

We have read I Took the Moon for a Walk by Carolyn Curtis, illustrated by Alison Jay this week (affiliate link fyi). I am pretty sure I have mentioned this title before. This is a reliable favorite for us.

"I took the moon for a walk last night. It followed behind like a still summer kite"

The illustrations as well as the language are absolutely captivating. It is also an Accelerated Reader, for those of you interested. The illustrations have a aged appearance due to the quick drying oil paints and crackle varnish that Alison uses. There is a great review of the book here. Oh! Also, in the back of the book there is info on the phases of the moon and night creatures!

What are you reading these days?

  1. I have TOO many books on my pile still, but I have been skimming like a madman to reduce the pile. I promised Adam I wouldn't check out anything new until I get to the bottom. We'll see! :)
Currently reading: Emily of Deep Valley (I need a light fiction read, and this is fitting the bill!)

  2. I've been reading too many books! I'm mostly through Hands Free Mama - which was awesome. I'm also reading Paradox of Choice and An Everlasting Meal. Both good!
