Books of the Week Volume 3

Here is what we are reading this week:

Me: Girls in White Dresses . This book is ok. Entertaining enough, it follows the lives of young women post college. Explores the whole dating scene and starting a career. Makes me think about that oh so difficult time, and how things went for me.

Mr. Z (4 years old): He randomly pulled Revenge of the Dinotrux off the shelf at the library. He loves it! We read it very, very often. The due date to this book will be a sad day for Mr. Z. The story is basically about dinosaurs that are like trucks and they live in a museum...but not for long! There are more in this series and I am definitely going to check them out.

Miss Penny (2 years old): Cleo on the Move is a new favorite. We fell in love with Cleo (and Caspar) before and this is a great addition to a sweet, simple series that is perfect for toddlers. The artwork is beautiful and vivid!

And we are ALL loving this awesome sticker book I picked up at the McNay Art Museum. It is My Sticker Art Gallery: The Impressionists . I originally thought it was too advanced for my son, but it has proven me wrong! He just sits and looks at the stickers (artwork) and then we talk about the art and put the stickers in the correct places. His favorite is "Le Pont de L'Europe" by Gustave Caillebotte because he believes the dog is crossing a bridge all by himself =)

  1. Your book looks like a fun read!

This week I'm finishing up (hopefully) The Scorch Trials (second book in The Maze Runner series) and trying to get through Crazy Love by Francis Chan.

  2. My book selections have been a-w-f-u-l this month. I desperately need a fiction read that requires NO tears or a non-fiction book that doesn't bore me to tears.
Tonight, I've been reading Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg--it's an interesting read about women in the corporate world...not really sure how to apply it to my current SAHM situation, but I like her writing style and I'm not bored.
