I am not going to linger on how I "failed" to do X,Y and Z from last year. I am going to start fresh, humble and grateful.
Goals, not resolutions. Because for me, goals seem more realistic than resolutions.
1) To sew! Yes, I struggle with allowing myself to relax and be creative. I will distract myself to the point where I will not have an opportunity to start on a project. Projects include: birthday dress for my little princess, Mass tote bag for my son, and a velvet or lace crib skirt. I describe myself as a seamstress, I know I can do these projects (heck, I made my son's christening gown out of silk the night before the baptism).
2) Study the Bible. I am going to start with "Letter and Spirit" by Scott Hahn, and I signed up for the Year of Faith 90 Day Bible Challenge HERE.
3) To promote literacy. I truly believe that literacy can change lives. Not sure how I am going to do this. I really want to be a reading buddy with the San Antonio Youth Literacy organization, but with two little ones at home who need me, I need some suggestions here!
4) Less VIRTUAL more REAL.
5) Explore San Antonio. If I have to be here, I better embrace it. I am going to use Denise's San Antonio Tourist Blog as a guide.
6) Vote with my dollars to patronize handmade and local if at all possible.
7) More glamour
8) Get really SERIOUS about this prek homeschooling I want to do with my son. I have all the tools, I just need the motivation.
What are your goals for 2013?
1) I've had this new year resolution for the past 10 years now, but I'm still stuck at mending tears and buttons stage.
ReplyDelete5) You MUST visit The Monterey restaurant. This was my favorite place when I lived in San Antonio.
7) Checkout my blog (www.mimiandchichi.com). Definitely have tips to help you out in that department :)

Ohh thanks for the restaurant recommendation!! Love your blog!
DeleteI was seriously bent out of shape about living in SA until I decided to embrace it. There's so much there to enjoy, really.
ReplyDeleteThanks Misha, I am trying soo hard. lol
DeleteI don't normally do resolutions, but this year I created a bucket or life list I'm particularly excited about :)
ReplyDeleteI am going to check out your list!
DeleteI love your goals. I also want to study the bible more. I want to explore san antonio more as well. Im born and raised here but still want to know more about my beautiful city. And the homeschooling yes! I definately need more motivation. We tried learning over the holidays but it was always pushed more to the side as we got more in the holiday spirit. When I had to pick between decorating the house and tree with munchkin over learning that week it seemed the traditions won. So now that the holidays are over for me Im going back it with even more strength.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alvina! Maybe we can keep each other motivated!!
DeleteIf you find out anything about promoting literacy, please let me know. I was a reading specialist in my former, working life :) I'd love to do something too.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I will definitely let you know, I bet we could do something pretty awesome, with Cohen's Mom too!
DeleteI like this list! Inspires me to make one. I'm reading through my Bible as well :) and I love #3--if you find a way for a SAHM to help with this please share!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Will do!
